Need some advice: Car squeals when i roll out in 1st gear
Was looking for some input or if anyone experiences this similar situation:
So here's the story. I was away on a business trip for 2 weeks so my car's been sitting in my garage untouched and never started since i left. I got back this morning and hopped in my car and started it. The car did something funny when i first fired it up. The ignition sounded like it had a hard time catching, it kinda stalled a little bit, the engine fluttered, and i could feel the car vibrating hard. I let it do that for a while, then i started it up again and the vibrating became less. So i was like ok, maybe the battery just needed to warm up the ignition or alternator or whatever after sitting for so long.
So i drive it out, and i start to hear this high pitched squealing sound as i roll out in first gear (I have a 6MT), it sounds like a bird doing a long chirp. So i was like crap, ok maybe the engine needs to warm up. So i drive it around for the most part of the day, and its still doing it until now, its now evening. The thing is, the sound only comes out as i roll out on first gear or when im rolling in reverse. When im at crusing speeds i dont hear it. It sounds like it's coming from the engine bay. The sound is also familiar to that of a bad fan belt, you know like the kind that you hear from old cars. But the cars only 5 years old with 40,000 miles. I cant imagine the fan belt going bad so soon.
Can anyone give any input on this or advice as to what the problem is. Could it be the breaks that are doing this, as those are the only other thing that i know that makes a similar sound. But it doesnt happen when i break though. And could the stall when i first started it be linked to the sound? The sound is really annoying btw, it sounds like i have an old run down car... Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Seized front caliper could be a possibility. It would stop the squeal when enough time and speed has allowed the rotor to be freed up, so makes sense that you only hear it when rolling out. Another possibility is a frozen alternator pulley, it makes that sound too.
