I was wondering if you have made a purchase yet? I am in the same boat as you were at the beginning of this thread and I am trying to gauge a good benchmark to start negotiations. I am looking for a 2008 IS350 CPO or not.

I went for a non-CPO because I still have 1.5 years of warranty left, and the extended warranties are relatively cheap.

I was in the same boat 2 weeks ago. I was looking at both CPOs and non. I ended up purchasing an 08 with 30k on the odometer, with Nav, Premium, and parking sensors, for 25k +tax, title, etc. They had it listed for 30, but I told them CPOs were listed for 30 too.

Oh yeah, what made you choose to defer from the CPO warranty and opt for the extended? I can't seem to find a definite answer on the differences between CPO and the platinum.

Excellent, thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Btw did you purchase from a Lexus dealer or another location?

I hope I am respectful in my comments but here we go. You don't know what packages are on the car and all you want is nav. If a dealer finds this out you are dead meat. Packages make a big difference in price and more importantly the dealer will know whether you are an educated consumer or someone they can make a few bucks on. Knowing what packages are on the car will help you negotiate. They may say this car has packages A,B and C. If they are not important tell them. If they think you want those packages they will hold out for more. Not being able to find out the difference between CPO and extended warranty is not terribly difficult. You can find both on the Lexus website or ask the finance manager at the dealer. Bottom line you sound like a nice guy that needs more info to get your best deal.

i just picked up a 06 is350 with navi and 55k. It had the 8 yr 125k platinum warranty for 23.5K from a PP.
Car is black Onyx and came with an INGs+ replica kit and 19" rims, which I plan to sell and make back some money at least to cover a few payments.
everything else I saw within 100 miles was about the same price, but no ext warranty.
This is my first post BTW. You all seem like a nice crowd. Much different from Honda-Tech.com which is where i come from.
