that's what I thought. SQL sealed is best... SPL ported is best.

I wish there was something available that was ported yet fit in such a way in the trunk so that I could still retrieve my spare tire.

^ I believe ported boxes are significantly larger than sealed ones as well, making such a solution that much more difficult to avhieve. A 12w6 in the 4080/boxology box should provide plenty of bass for you though.

I may just see if boxology will make an identical box for the driver side as well.
Hopefully two 12w6's pointed at eachother won't cancel out. I'll have to see how far they need to be to see if this is the case.

they won't. the original mold they have to make that enclosure was from one of the owners' old leases

They often makes these boxes in batches of 5 or more. Perhaps if there's enough interest they will do another run, but I'm just speculating.
