i have the jl 12w7 with 500/1 with a ported box so bass is loud you think this stealth box will be a good pick up or will it not pound as loud?

It's sealed so it will not be as loud, but the consensus seems to be that your bass will be "tighter" and more accurate.

I'm not sure the stealth box will have enough air space for the 12W7?

^^^i was thinking the same thing but i just hate how my ported jl box kills most of my trunk space mabe i should upgrade to the 1000/1 and this stealthbox you think it might pound the same or even better if i upgrade the amp and change to the stealth box

The 4080/boxology sub box, I hear, was designed specifically for a 12w6. Assuming the W7 even fits in this box (the magnet goes pretty deep, that may be an issue) it still wouldn't be optimal displacement-wise. I can say with a high degree of certaintly that it would not hit as hard as your current setup.

It will not. The mounting depth is too shallow. You will more than likely blow your 12W7. W7's are very sensitive to cubic space requirements. Too little and you'll blow your coil(too much positive pressure). Too much and you'll blow your coil(too much negative pressure).

The 4080 box was originally made for Polk and the JL 12W6V2. They both have the same cubic space requirements(1.5 cubic ft.). Try a single 12W6V2 with a ported setup and your W6 will sound airy. Running two 12W6V2's with a ported setup, that's a different story; it's probably the cleanest sounding setup I've ever had(in my 2GS)

Well, been a few days and no response to my email. Looks like I may be SOL. Anyone have any experience or seen any reviews of the Ebay box listed in the thread?

After looking, I may go with the wicked box since the 4080 seems unavailable. Anyone know of any members using the wicked boxes?

I email them and they. Hit me right back the shop is here in Houston and the box is renamed boxology . I got one and a w7 will not fit nor will my type R alpine . Had to put a w6 in there . It hits but my box I got for 32 bucks shipped to my door bangs just as hard if not harder. It looks nice but not worth the 400 buck investment IMO . If these were 199 would be worth every penny just cause they fit in our cars. But for 400 I expected more

better off with the box from zenclosures on ebay, that guy is local and has been hand building boxes for 350zs and Gs for the longest time he built the box my bros 2 10 w3s were in for the Altima Coupe. He has 2 or 3 different designs for the 2IS and it fits nice and flush in the back which leaves a ton of trunk space. If you message him he can even customize for certain specific subs if your give him a heads up.

You emailed the 4080 people and got a response right back? I've been waiting nearly a week now. Comparing there box to the wickedcas one I think I would prefer the 4080 since its made to fit a 12'' rather than a 10''.

I've seen some other boxes on ebay but I want a side/stealth box.
