good to hear you're ok, but it's always horrible to see an IS that way. i've also been victim of an accident with no seatbelt and breaking the windshield with my head, it is not a good feeling. have always worn my seatbelt since. so what's going to be the replacement vehicle??

r u a big guy? from whom i know, the 2 guys i kno who dont wear seatbelts are big and they say its uncomfortable... stay safe next time! glad to know the headaches went away! sucks that the car is gone....

Airbags are deployed based on rate of deceleration, not degree of damage. Im not surprised at all (given the offset collision) that the airbags didn't deploy. The forces of a corner impact are much different than a full on head on collision.

I just hate it when people see a wrecked car and assume the airbags should have gone off based on how much damage there is.
14 mph - head on - into a non moving barrier is the amount of force needed. Crashing into another car even at 20 mph may not set off the bags because the other car moves and also crumples - absorbing the impact.
