Certain companies offer special discounts for memberships. I get a steep discount with 21st Century being a union member. Only paying $12 more a month for the 2011 IS250 than the 2009 Subaru Legacy. More importantly, I've always had good customer service with them, and they make claims as painless as possible.

finally negotiated down to 1400/6 mo with geico. 26, clean record. best i could find - by far. all others couldnt come below 2k/6mo, or had no interest in insuring me based on downtown miami location.
