+1 for sewell. for the install, i don't think you should pay a shop to do it. There's installation instructions that comes with the part. It's fairly easy and shouldn't take longer than an hour or so.

Given it's a Lexus part you're not gonna find it significantly cheaper anyplace else since only dealers sell it... unless you get it used from someone changing intakes.

Only time I've seen it cheaper was a couple years ago when MS was still doing the stupid-large ebay cashback thing, which is how I got mine at $299-30% ($210)... but that deal is long gone and not coming back.

If you want to spend less get the Joe Z intake, performance will be the same and it's a lot less money (and what I'd have done if I hadn't gotten that deal)

And yeah either intake, do it yourself, 30-60 minutes tops and very easy... (the Joe Z even easier than the F-sport since you don't have to swap the lower airbox piece that just adds noise)

They are based out of TX, so no tax unless you live there. I put mine on in about 45 mins. Only tool you need is 10mm ratchet with 10-inch extension and flat-head screwdriver.

If you are lazy like me take it to the Lexus dealer do the intake install. They only charged me $40 and it took 25 min to complete.

No bargaining. They bill at a straight $80 per hour. My dealership is incredibly reasonable with service. I had my front brakes done there (including turning and everything) and it was actually $50 less than Les Schwab! The 35k mile service was only $155 too. I usually shop around but I am hard pressed to find it cheaper elsewhere. On top of all that every time I bring my car in for service I get a loaner (be it 1 hour or overnight).

BTW the dealer is Lexus of Seattle

You paid $155 for an oil change and are happy about it? (that's all the 35k service is after all)

That said, $80/hr is easily the lowest hourly rate I've ever seen for a Lexus dealer

Actually the 35k service also included replacing the air filter. The funny thing is about 2k miles later I had the F-Sport intake installed so the filter was a waste of money

@cheatdeath

It's not that hard to install the intake. It's just a simple remove and replace. You don't even need special tools.

If you ever come out to one of the meets in NorCal, I can install for you for cheap. I charge 30 bucks

The hardest part of installing the intake was remove the engine covers. Plus there is a simple to follow PDF guide I found from Sewell.

It takes about 30 Minutes or so, but mostly depends on your experience.

For future reference, or others seeing the thread, the air filter is due at 30k rather than 35k... a new one is like $20 and takes about 5 minutes to swap yourself
