Is this really a surprise to anyone? I can't see myself owning a different car.

"Near-Luxury".....? I beg to differ! Not at all surprised the IS is on the list, seriously. It is amazing how people line up to by GM, Ford and Chrysler, as if they are unaware that their car will be worth a quarter of what they paid for it in 5 years (if that much). I am 100% All American, but come on. When it comes to build quality, value and dependability, it really is a no brainer and comes right back to "you get what you pay for".

Ford may have three on the list now, but we will see what the value is in 5 years. These types of list are predictions of anticipated value retention, but when trade in/resale time actually comes up in 5 years, the proof will be in the pudding. Don't get me wrong, some American made vehichles do hold their value (Jeeps are good, for example), but overall they are poor. And that is just from the value aspect. The whole matter of build quality and longevity are another issue completely. I own a Honda Accord with 95,000 miles on it and the cost of repair and maintenance is the same or less than that of a domestic vehicle. How many Ford Fusions or Focus' would you anticipate would last as long as long, be worth as much, or cost less to maintain as my Accord?
