You can get them refinished, it won't be that cheap but it will look like new when its done (if its done right!) That would be the best bet with Work's. Powder Coating is another option, but not sure id powdercoat a set of Work's.
Black Chrome is known for being especially fragile. You to clean it correctly or it will peel, crack and flake. When i was at the Lexus dealer a couple weeks ago i sat in a Lexus LS and they had a box that said "black chrome wheel cleaning kit" in the back seat. It said on the box don't use any other wheel cleaner but this or use car soap and water, otherwise warranty on wheels is void.

Hey Muggy, i e-mailed Panthers in Surrey a month ago if they could replicate/powdercoat my 18"s in black chrome and the dude said it would cost $250-270 per wheel because its a "tri-colour" coat or somthing. I never got it done but that should give you an idea of how much it might cost local

Good to know they can take apart the wheel face and the lip apart.. Yea i'm definitely going to see if they can strip the chrome and do a brush aluminum look. But damn, Vancouver (canada) is so limited on wheel repair shops.. I really dont think black chrome is an option anymore since yea, shipping it down to states and back will probably cost a fortune since im in canada.
Even though i had the wheels for 2 years now but no way am i going to give up on it.. lol sorry love the T1S too much. Did not expect Black Chrome to be this fragile.. It's funny, the more expensive an item is, the more fragile it is... Even my stockies can stand all weather and chemicals without any issues
....
Manillaice, thanks, i'll definitely give them a shout but i heard from another member that their black chrome isn't real chrome look... But still a good option to check it out...
So will stripping the chrome and doing a brush aluminum finish going to be more expensive than powder coating the wheel to a different colour?

do not ever put any type of 'wheel cleaner' on your rims~ EVER... i don't care if its 'what professionals use'~ i've seen too many rims ruined by so called 'professionals'~
get some meguiers gold class car soap, put in a spray bottle, 1/4th soap to 3/4ths water and use a mf towel, NOTHING ELSE~. I myself just use plain water in my spray bottle since i wipe my rims everytime i drive the car, before i leave and sometimes when i get to where im going
I always carry 2 sams club packs of NEW mf towels in my trunk, 2 spray bottles and xtra bottled water
