I have a 2006 IS350 bought brand new. Noticed that the passenger side low beam headlight is out. When I turn the lights on, it comes on for a second and then goes back out. I am a little confused about the bulb in this thing. I was also trying to avoid taking it to a dealership if at all possible. Is this a bulb I can purchase/change myself? The owners manual says not to try and repair the low beams. All the other bulbs can be changed except those. Please help.

thanks......and once i get to the light housing ?????
After finding some threads about this, I guess I am still a bit confused? I mean, is it the bulb or something more involved than that?

If it comes on and then dies, it might no be the bulb - it might be the ballast controlling the voltage to the bulb. Swap the bulbs from one side to the other, if that one side still does the same thing, its the ballast. If you switch the bulb and then the other side wont turn on, its the bulb.

When I originally got my low beams swapped for 6K bulbs, I had this same problem on one of the two new bulbs. I got that bulb exchanged for another and never had an issue again (running for ~1 year). So your problem is potentially a bulb issue.
