I recently had my '07 IS250 rear ended by a idiot who couldn't see that I was stopped at a RED light, the collision work being done us bothersome. I am having problems with the trunk lid closing. As I remember the trunk on the IS250 closes real smooth and when fully opened, trying to close it took little or no effort as it usually seemed to free fall and drop into place most of the way down. I am not getting the same closing as I did before. I have the push it all the way down, or it will get stuck in the middle of closing. I just wanted to verify with other CL members that your truck does close with little effort and drop down into place easy. The auto body shop tried telling me that my trunk struts were worn out, and they replaced them and the trunk closing is normal. Thanks for the help in advance it it greatly appreciated. (P.S. I live in myrtle beach so a any dealer with a is250 is rare)
I just thought that maybe the trunk struts are in backwards??? After looking at some diagrams I think they might be. Can anyone tell me whether or not the black tube on the trunk strut is closer to the trunk lid or the body of the car?
