Congrats on the new ride. Your CL username can definitely be changed so no worries there.

Welcome to the IS side of the forum. It'll be smaller, but you'll enjoy your new ride!

Congrats - I still love my '06 IS250RWD that I factory ordered way back when. Only has 36k miles so it was still 'the new car' until this past weekend. We bought a '11 RX450h to replace our '00 RX300

Enjoy!

Well, I've had my IS for a couple of weeks now and have some thoughts comparing it to my 00 GS4. Man, I loved that GS and even though it had about 170k miles it still looked and performed like a car with 50k miles.

You will no doubt feel the stiffer ride of the IS as well as the smaller cabin. I have 2 children and never had a problem with their car seats in the GS, and it's a bit cramped with them in the IS. But, we traveled about 700 miles in the IS last weekend to visit family and after getting the seats adjusted a bit everyone was comfortable.

As far as performance goes, the GS was very impressive even with it's age and mileage, but the IS350 is strong and lively. Although, I just picked mine up from the dealer after having the valve spring recall completed and it feels very "flat" across the power range and really doesn't seem to pull like it did. I noticed that all of my programmed radio stations were lost so obviously they had the battery disconnected and I am really hoping that the ECU just needs to "re-adjust".

To sum it up, if you don't mind a stiffer ride and the smaller cabin which is to be expected, you should really enjoy the performance and gas mileage of an IS350.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the comparison. I think I will be joining the IS family soon. My GS has 227k on it but still runs strong. It's starting to show its age tho. I want something more current in tech features and I like the fact that the IS is faster than my gs but gets better gas mileage. I'll miss the v8 snarl(Borla axle back & front resontor removed) but I'm sure I'll get over it once I feel the newness and the rush of the powerful V6. If your car is feeling slower after the repair you should prolly take it back asap. I dont think there should be a difference in performance after getting a repair. Thanks again for your response. Good luck!

Looks great! Seeing one at stock height makes me realize how low mine actually is.
