Purchased my 2010 RX450h AWD June '10, and waited almost a month for it to arrive from Japan. Only option it did not have was the Mark Levinson Audio. Every other option it had, HUD, Park Assist, Luxury pkg, etc etc etc. LOVED it.. it was so refined.

Now with that said, I traded it for my '10 IS first week of December. My reason? My last 3 vehicles were SUV's and I was in the SUV rut... so I wanted something sportier to drive for a bit. It was also nice to get the IS plus a big fat check from the dealer to boot for the trade.

They are two different classes of vehicles. One is soft, smooth, family oriented.
The other is sporty, with excellent handling.

With that being said, as far as the faster comments, I can truly say that the RX450h would leave my IS250 in the dust on acceleration. 300hp with both electric motors front and back kicked in made for a nice kick in the pants. Obviously not meant for that, but as far as 250's go it was quicker.

I like my IS alot. It has great gas mileage, and the sporty ride. Actually have my eyes on an IS-F now though. Can never make my mind up.

Another thing to mention, I took my IS the week after I got it to have front clear bra and window tint put on it, and got a RX350 as a loaner. Ther ARE refinement differences between the 350 an 450h, at least from my perspective being in both.

I love my IS250RWD, but I just bought a '11 RX450h and it's a great car too. Not sporty, but like Lil4cyl mentioned it can get up and go for such a big vehicle. The motors not only add extra HP, but they add monster torque. The IS will launch faster than the RX, but the RX will easily out accelerate the IS on the freeway. An IS250 at least

Keep on hating, I've got all week/month/year.

I thought the interior on the model I had felt more cheap and wasn't laid out nearly as nicely as the IS.
Everyone can throw out their opinions but your attitude came across as 'anyone driving an RX rather than an IS is a fool'. Maybe you didn't mean that but that is how it comes across. One is not better than another as they are different tools for differerent purposes. I have an IS and the wife has an RX and if we are tooling 75 miles into town to do some shopping the RX is a far more comfortable vehicle as I see it. There is more room, it is quieter, and the amenities are just as good. The 'mouse' system is different than the touch screen but a touch screen just isn't going to work with the way the RX's dashborad is set up (too long a reach). You get used to it pretty quickly and with the additional buttons on the controller you can move around pretty quickly. It is a far better system than the I drive on the BMW, imo. We are going on a two month road trip this summer in the RX, I would never consider putting 8-10k miles in two months in the IS, way too cramped and too much road noise with the low profile tires.

Having both of them currently. I like to use the IS on my way to work and cruising around it feels nimbler and tighter steering. On the other hand the RX is for family when going out and also on long trips. 2 different vehicles for different purposes, I love both of them. In the end it only boils to one thing both are LEXUS

I think you read it that way based on my username or something. Your own personal bias got in the way.

They gave me an Rx... It's a totally different driving experience. It's funny how the back winshied is just as small as in the IS.
