all lexus recalls are free to the customer and the lexus dealership will bill lexus for the amount because someone has to pay for the service work i guess. free gas too, been like that for years now....I don't know the price per gallon they are billing but it could be up to $75 for a full tank.

I just took mine in this past Tuesday for the minor service, and the guy told me there was a recall on the fuel sensor, BUT they were unable to fix it at this visit because something about Lexus not releasing all the detailed information or some crap like that. He said they will contact me for me to bring my car back in. And when they do i will make sure i go in on E (considering gas prices just keep going up and up every hour it seems)

For the record, not all Lexus recall jobs equate to a free tank of gas. Lexus disects each recall and determines which ones get perks like free gas or gift cards. As far as I can recall, only the gas pedal and fuel sensor recalls have warranted free gas. If there's been another for the 2IS, someone chime in.

BTW, the free gas was heavily discussed on CL three weeks ago when the recall was first announced.

Why did you pay 2700 for recall? They did not charge me. However, I did pay for new sparkplugs while they replacing the valve. Does your car feel different after valve replaced?

I think you're right. I can't believe I own a car long enough to get so many recalls.... and yes, the only one they filled my tank was the fuel pipe. When Newport finish the recall my check engine light came up....brought it back and found out the guy did not connect it on correctly....

holy lexus....@120k looking forward for more recalls. Maybe they will replace the whole care for me one day...

The valve spring issue was technically not a recall, but a TSIB. If outside of the powertrain warranty you're required to pay out of pocket. I believe the only reason for this TSIB was to fix the rough engine noise on cold starts.

You are confusing two different things.

The valve spring issue on the 350 was a recall

Free regardless of mileage or warranty status.

the rattle-on-cold start issue that some folks get, which has to do with the cam gears, not the valve springs, is a TSIB, and thus only free under warranty.
