It's been done before. Many people are against it because they think you should have bought a BMW. You'd have to open up your headlights and bake them in the oven to loosen up the glue. If one ever went out you'd have to do it again also. Another thing is the potential for moisture to get in the headlight if not properly sealed afterwards. People have done this to paint the chrome in the headlights black also.

I personally will not take apart the housing to install a halo or paint 'em black. Because the end result is a hit or miss for a beginner.
If you can find a professional to do the job (someone who has done it several times with 100% success), go for it. I think it looks cool.
Don't worry about the haters from BMW owners. They are just pissed they are not special anymore.
EDIT: IMO - for the IS, only 2 halos looks the best. I wouldn't put halos around the DRL and fogs.

To the OP, it's ur car so do whateva that pleases u. People that say that it's a Lexus is over rating it like it's God's gift, I personally don't know if the price of the vehicle have anything to do with it or if they're just straight up fanboys. Truth be told, it's a vehicle that many admire/love (including me) but just becuz I own one doesn't give me the rights to say things like "if u want the led strips, get a Audi (yes I know the new 2is have led headlights) and if u want halos, get a bimmer".
Just rolling down my .02 cents, pick it up if u want them or leave 'em be if u don't... LOL

The DSM with the green halos looks great to me. But my problem is having to open the headlight cover. There's a greater chance of condensation afterwards. Whether it looks like a bimmer is not a big deal. I've seen a few 2IS and even IS300's with them. It's a great look at night.
