Default HELP with HTV EVO Connection

Hey guys,

I just got a new HTC EVO. I was trying to hook it up to my 2010 IS250 but it seems that the phone connects but will not let me transfer my contacts, thus allowing my "hands free" portion.

Is there anyone with tips or a DIY, something??

please help. I appreciate it guys!

Thanks,

DjK

I was able to connect and trasnfer my contacts from my EVO to my 2011. The only tip I can offer is to make sure you are requesting the contact transfer from the Navi unit to the phone, not from the EVO. Once you request the transfer from the Navi, you will need to accept it on the EVO, a message will pop up in the top status bar of the phone asking you to approve the transfer. You have the option there to always allow transfers, but the first time you have to allow it permission. Hope this helps.

Yea mine connects as soon as I turn the car on. Sometimes it doesn't for some unknown reason but that's rare.

After the initial authorization, mine works perfectly for both phone and audio. Also make sure you goto your bluetooth options on the phone to enable BT audio and phone, as well as FTP transfer via BT. I found androidcentral.com to be extremely useful with issues like these, great source for andriod phones. My EVO seems to work very well with the Lexus system, people constantly remark how good it sounds through the phone, although the BT audio could be better.

BTW - to access the BT transfer request authorization, you will need to drop down the taskbar, where your email notifications appear. It will pop up soon as you send the request from the Navi.

what year IS do you have? I didn't realize you could stream audio through the bluetooth to the stereo. what input do you use for that?

It's a 2011, non-ML. It is an option under audio tab, before AUX and USB labled BT. Maybe new for 2011? It should work with any BT device using A2DP audio transfer protocol.

I'm thinking it's probably a feature on the harddrive based Navi only... I would compare the audio quality to FM Radio, you're really not missing much if you don't have it.

YW, glad you got it working. I changed from iphone to evo as well, took about two weeks for me to adjust. Great phone though...
