3 Words for me... Price, Reliability, and Service.
BMW sales agents are all too stuck up. If the sale people treat you bad to begin with, you can imagine what happens if you have a problem with the BMW... Also, it was way over-priced for a 328i, they were asking over 40 grand for it (not out the door price).
Mercedez had even worse reliability than BMW. So that was immediately out of the picture for me.

Lets see... Lexus, junk, junk orrrr junk. I went w/ Lexus.
The only other car I even considered was the Inifiniti G series but unless you get a brand new one the interiors have that cheapy nissan feel so again, Lexus.

For me it was 2011 IS350 vs 2011 G37 sedan. I considered the German brands but I just didn't feel like those suited my style. I went to drive the IS350, and when I saw the black F-Sport package with the plastic still on it, I didn't even stop by the Infinity dealer
In retrospect maybe I should have at least given the G37 a chance, but the "L" badge just does it for me

I love german cars because their cars has the most craftsmanship thats why people pay a premium. Downside simply is COST OF OWNERSHIP. I cant afford to pay for marked up car parts.
Im sure most of us who bought a japanese car done so because of the reliability of the engine and low cost of ownership. Thats pretty much what japanese cars are known for and their resale value.

It was between my IS and a 335i. Having owned German cars and Japanese...the latter takes the cake in reliability hands down. In pure driving feel, could go either way. I love the look of the IS, and it seems everyone and their mom is driving a 3 series, at least where I live. I'm a true Lexus convert, next ride hopefully an IS-F. Man I love that car

pricing, style and reliability.
options that come on the IS standard are options on most european cars. stuff like keyless entry and starting the car (never having to take the key out ever) are options on the bmw. i was looking into used 328s and 335is but i couldnt find one that i wanted. plus having family working at toyota helps

The IS250 is my 4th Lexus... My reason for staying loyal to the brand is simply for the value in reliability, modern luxury, styling, affordability and smooth driving experience. The Lexus slogan is also a rule to live by
"The pursuit of perfection"
Year over year, Lexus commercials always win me over.

audi- poor styling
bmw- constant breakdowns
mb- wife owns one
as fas as everyone saying mb is so high for maintenence. check it out and see how much it actually is its not alot. you do 1 service a year either 200 for A service or 300 for B service.
if you service your lexus 3-4 times a year at 100-200 a service thats way more than mb. plus lexus wants 200 for a alignment and balance and rotate. they want 400 every 15k miles for service. what a joke. granted yes we can service at toyota to be cheaper or do it yourself.

I was really into the A4 but the European cars, though well made, are expensive to run and maintain. I think for reliability and maintenance costs, the Japanese cars are the way to go.
