Default what made you purchase IS series over 3 series, C class, A4?

I recently bought a white IS250 with leather package and am picking it up sometimes in this week in Canada. VERY VERY excited for it!!!!!!

I just wondered what everyone had in their mind when they decided on IS rather than C class, 3 seires, A4 (or even cc/TL/G37). For me I was sold on the design, smooth driving and beautiful interior.

Look forward to hear and share more compliments on IS250!!!

Why I did not choose:

BMW - Constant problems and cost issues (learned from friends who own one)
Mercedes - Cost to maintain it (mom had one, brother now owns it)
Audi - Close friend had one in the past. That car kept breaking down.

ugh, the peers mentioned were asking 50%+ more for a lease. it was a no brainer.

BMW --Constant problems and cost issues
Mercedes -- No thanks..
G35 or 37 -- MPG was to low as I do a good amount of driving and felt like I would be settling if I did not just get a Lexus, as that is what I always wanted
Audi -- Was not on my list.

i've been follow this little concept the last 10 years. lease: go for a BMW, their lease rate and residual is the best among luxury brand, and you don't have to worry about the car problems later on. purchase: either Acura or Lexus, they're all top notch quality and reliability, value factors are way better than those German brand if you have to shed money to own them. as for MB and Audi, i would neither leased them nor purchase them, lol.

German cars require too much upkeep and maitnence... And Japanese cars are better quality and reliable.

everything else costs too much to maintain and its not as reliable as Lexus. Plus, with all the upgraded uptions added, you get the best value for the bucks! and I like the IS's design better!!

MB - cost of ownership, including expected depreciation
Infiniti - stupidly small trunk space available with top down (much smaller than the small IS350C space)
Audi - didn't look

I had an IS300 before the 350 and absolutely loved it! But it was showing its age and it was time to move on. I really like the looks and features of the 350, not to mention the significant power boost over the 300. The reason I stayed with Lexus was because of the reliability and customer service. I never had a major problem with my IS300 and when I would bring it in for service, I was treated like I owned the place.

idk why everyone praises BMW for their leases - or any german car. their quotes are usually horrific when compared to Lexus...or acura. bmw, MB, and audi will not negotiate on their numbers. you could find such better deals elsewhere...unless youre a push-over and lease at the advertised rate, then maybe you could consider them decent leases.

With little haggling, you could get a TSX or IS250 for 300-380/mo, nothing down. granted, the sticker is a bit shy of a base model A4, C300, or 328...but theres no way in hell you could get any of those three germans anywhere near that lease quote. a 328 or C300 zero down, are around 500/mo. and an A4 2.0 is even more.
