Man drives into lamppost at 100 MPH in IS250 and lives
It's an old news story but I don't really remember it being discussed here. It may have gone overlooked because it was more local news, but the gist of it is an army veteran got into his obsedian IS250 and deliberately drove into a lamppost at 100 MPH trying to kill himself because he was depressed. He survived, has a new outlook on life, and upgraded to a white ISF in the process.

L/Cpl Beharry got into his powerful £32,000 black Lexus IS250 - bought with money from his memoirs - and roared off.
I wonder if his insurance covered the IS since it was an attempted suicide.

He's only fooling us, his plan is to stay lo-key till he can do it right this time...... at 200mph, hence why he got the is-f.

I think IS250/IS350 owners should feel proud that in at least one instance their car was able to save a driver from a 100 MPH crash. That's just really astounding.
And contrary to what some of the big headed IS350 owners will claim (I'm teasing about "big headed" don't hate me please ), the IS250 is a plenty powerful car. The performance of the IS250 is not "average" by any means. It's well above average.
"The time it takes to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h or 0 to 27 m/s) is a commonly used performance measure for automotive acceleration in the United States and the United Kingdom. In the rest of the world 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) is used. Present performance cars are capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in under 6 seconds, while exotic cars can do 0 to 60 mph in between 3 and 4 seconds, whereas motorcycles have been able to achieve these figures with sub-500cc engine for more than 20 years. The average car as of 2009 gets from 0 to 60 mph in 8.95 seconds."
Anyways, I hope we don't turn this into an IS250 vs IS350 discussion. They call the IS250 a "powerful sports car." If anything, IS350 owners should be flattered, so please let's not dwell on such an innocuous news comment.

Maybe, he plans on heading nose first into a lamppost in his ISF so he can upgrade even further to the LFA

Yeah, as you might imagine, car manufacturers aren't too interested in having crash tests at 100 MPH because that situation simply isn't relevant for everyday life. The vast majority of crashes occur at speeds well below 100 MPH.
It's nice to see the IS250 pass with flying colors in the safety department in these rare instances where it is tested at such extreme speeds.
