ARGHH rock hit my windshiel....replaced it? or safelite?

I will always try to fix it first. Safelite is a good choice. Most insurance companies will pay for it 100%. If you need to replace it, you need to pay deductible.
There is no way you can get brand new windshield for $270 (must be non-oem). The real OEM will cost > $600 at the dealership. Safelite will have to order from dealership too. I have replaced the windshield at dealership before and it cost $1200. I only paid $50 deductible. I made sure that my windshield will have the "LEXUS" logo at the corner.
Be aware of those cheapy windshields, it may not perform as well as oem. Eg: the light can go thru the windshield in different way depending on the material it goes thru. Cheap glass will not distribute light evenly and causes headache when you look thru them.
