idk where you live but in Florida insurance companies are required to replace your windshield with no deductible so I would look into that in your area before you make a decision.

I was told from a glass shop:
Cracks that are bigger than the size of the quarter cannot be safely repaired. Most likely it will spread again...
In CA, you cannot repair crack or chip on the driver side because it will become a distraction. This I think is stupid because it's already there.
If you can repair it, repair it ASAP because the damn thing will spread. Avoid using the heater because it will spread even quicker. Also, avoid pot holes too.
Your insurance should cover repair for free or you have to pay like 80 dollar deductible to replace with aftermarket. But this depend on your insurance, so call and ask about it.

I was also told that they would not repair a chip that was infront of the driver.
To be sure, call and ask your insurance company.

I just had safelite come out and fix a chip I had which was very similar to yours.
It was painless and free... BUT keep in mind that when you repair a chip you can still see it. I was thinking it would be as good as new, but while the repair helps the crack not spread... it doesn't make it "disappear".

called my insurance, i was refer to another company that gives me $25 off the repair or the cost of the windshield. My insurance wouldn't cover it coz my deductible is 1k. so i was referred..they're going to replace the windshiled instead of fixing it...total cost $467.90 including labor, windhield wid the delears clip on the side and top mounting of the widshield and the $25off gift card...is that seems fair price?
