All of my cars have the tint on the whole window. No cut outs for the brake lights...

Thanks everyone, but the more i research this, the more i see people having it done this way for inspection. Mostly seeing it online for va and some others in surrounding states. A ton of people saying they failed inspections due to it and had to have it cut out and reinspected.

Think I'm just gonna leave it, don't have the patience to take it back in and have it redone. Would love to hear from anyone in VA in particular who has 35% and has passed without a cut out!

The inspection he is talking about refers to Virginia code for vehicles. We have to get the car inspected for safety every year. The tint does violate this because it makes it harder for others to see your third brake light.

Thats how whack VA is, you have to have 50% tint in the front, 35% on the sides.

Dude, just leave the cut out, its so much of a hassle if you get pulled over and get a ticket for it too, not to mention not passing inspection.

that sucks!

I would hate to have a car inspection every year. Thank God we don't have that in Florida

I agree with him ^^ just leave it cut out, it's not that noticeable

No issues yet, knocking on wood.

Seriously, I would grab a thick piece of plastic, have him tint that, and then slide it out when you need an inspection.

I am getting mine done Saturday, and will damn sure I tell the guy to pull the 3rd brake light and tint the whole glass. HUGE difference in the look. I am really glad I saw this thread before having the windows done.
