350 HID bulb OEM replacement
Hi All,
Anyone have to replace a HID bulb yet?
I have an 07 with 55k. Passenger side bulb just went out. Dealer quoted $260 for install. $190 for part + $70 labor.
Am I getting jipped? Would Sewell have the part and is it easy to DIY?
UPDATE
Here is a DIY I found. Credits go to OP

I just sold my stock set for $45 shipped.
LMAO @ $260 for install, it takes about 15 mins. There are 3 bolts for the airbox and a hose clamp. Then you just pop off the cover and take the old bulb out like a normal bulb and pop the new bulb in.
So yea I'd saying your getting murdered x 2.

Sewell has the part, its still expensive tho. And when you replace HID bulbs you always wanna replace both at the same time, otherwise there will be a color difference usually between the bulbs.
I'd suggest doing the Garax 6K's like everyone else says. They have proven to be really good quality and they are easy to install. Factory replacement basically.

Got a replacement bulb @ oembulbs.com...that being said it took a month to get the bulb (comes from Europe). So towards week 3 I was wondering what the heck happened...not sure I'd recommend going with them after that experience. Ebay sometimes has a few oem bulbs pop up, just have to verify the seller is legitimate and selling an actual oem bulb.

Thanks for all the replies.
I decided to go with the garax 6000k. Only $86 shipped for the pair! Much better than $520 @ the dealer for two haha.
Glad I checked on CL.

If my headlight is working off and on, is it a good time for me to think about a replacement or is something wrong with the headlight that I can adjust?
"I suggest you go with 6000K Garax for ~$90 and install them yourself...." this is what I am leaning towards.

Basically i would go for the bulb with the must lumen output . Does anyone know what the stock lumen output is?
so far I found these:
http://www.oembulbs.com/osram-d4s-xenarc-66440.html
3200 LM @ 4150K
Trying to find one with a higher lumen output
