Considering on switching from 07 IS250 AWD to 07 IS250 RWD

IMHO, this is a big mistake financially, especially that you are planning on buying a house! The difference in noise, navigation and slightly better gas mileage is not worth it, again IMHO. Perhaps, if you can somehow find a straight up deal but I bet more then likely you will pay something and the dealer will make some money.

Bouncy,
Yup that is what I am trying to figure out. Ideally, I want a straight trade. If not I'll pay some and it will not affect the stipulations which are in place. Hopefully the difference I can maintain is < 3K difference.

I didnt mean to be hard on you, but just trying to put it in perspective. For example, is "less noise", navigation & slightly better gas mileage worth $3,000 to you? If so, and you say your finances for the home won't be affected then you should do it. Good luck.
While on this topic, in theory, could you take out the front drive shafts to make the car RWD? My friend at work posed this question on me and wanted to see what you guys think.

But it never hurts to go in there and haggle.

Sktn77a, I suspect 18K was probably where they would try to hit me at. If they do, I will try to hit them back hard for their car. Hit them with $22K as a start.
Kamileon88, yes the AWD are common and they go quickly. RWD, not as often since they appear once in a while - so this way I may have some leverage.
The dealership seems eager to have me commit to purchasing it instead of looking at it since it is at their other dealership and need to have it transported to their own do not just want me to have a look at it. Before I would commit to anything I want to phyiscally inspect the car myself looking at the cosmetics on both outside and inside before I go foward.
