Thanks! Cycling that contact about 20 times and it started to work on both visors. Seems obvious that it is getting dirty/oxidized from lack of use and should have been designed as more of a "wiping" style contact.

Default sun visor LED light bulb

I tried doing that and it didn't work. The other option they gave me was replacing both mirrors for about $300 each...no thanks. In your situation it could be a blown fuse, if not we might be on the same boat. Kinda sucks cause I replaced it with LEDs and I can't even use them

How much it cost for each LED? Where to have it purchased? Thanks.

Default My fix

Open the mirror cover all the way then squeeze the upper left corner (passenger mirror).

Default My Visor Light Is Fixed!!!!!

I read a whole bunch of posts and I tried opening and closing the mirror door and after 20 attempts the light now works! I have gone back to open and close it a number of times after it started working and it is working perfectly. I just saved myself about five or six hundred dollars! I just bought the car yesterday and I was bummed out to know that the right passenger side visor would not light up! But now we are good and I am so grateful for this thread! I hope that helps somebody else save a whole lot of money!

Holy Necro-thread.... But here I am pulling it out of the grave. 2015 GX460. When I got it the driver side visor was loos and had a bad stain on the top, not visible until put down. While off-road it just wiggled way too much so I ordered a factory new visor and installed it. Well the vanity light doesn't work, only on the driver side.

I tried to test for voltage on the pins in the roof bracket and I get nothing. the courtesy lights and passenger vanity work fine just no driver vanity light. I would likely not use it but just like the wiggling visor it bugs the hell out of me not working.

Any suggestions for diagnosis?

If there isn't any power, I would check the fuse.

It appears that the same fuse runs passenger and dome lights. They work. I checked the fuse that the owner's manual indicates, it is good and when pulled turns off the dome and passenger vanity. I tried jumping the pins on the driver's side and no light, I've already switched out the bulb, I may have to play with the bulb socket.

Just throwing this out for anyone stumbling into the old thread looking for one possible solution with switching out old wire filament bulbs with newer led. It does matter which direction the led is put in. If the old bulb was working, and the new led isn't, flip it around. And it should work.
