so you broke the bolt that holds the snorkel? if you know how, get a drill bit and extract the broken bolt, thats what i did when i broke the bolt that holds the rear sway bar.

yea.. i broke the bolt when I was trying to swap my hid bulbs. I was following the youtube video where they are installing the aftermarket hids.. soon after i broke the bolt i realized i didn't need to go through all those processes because i have oem hids... and i swapped it in like 10 mins after that.

Thanks for your suggestion, but... is there any other safer alternative? your approach seems pretty technical..

if you can see the broke bolt under, than try and turn it with pilers until it comes out. If that isnt possible, most shops can remove it for around 50 bucks. They will basically just use a drill bit or bolt extractor to remove it.

If it's stuck in there, it's not going to hurt anything. You have the engine cover shroud that goes over it so you shouldn't worry about movement.

Wow! Don't drive the car, this is a major issue. You'll need to tow it to a shop to have them extract the bolt. If you do try to drive the car the engine may seize up.

The bolt is stuck in the hole it was bolted into from what I understand. I don't think it went into the snorkel.

All I gotta say is, if you broke that when you were undoing it by hand, you da man!

Yes, I do have the cover. And once I placed the cover back on, there was no movement as far as i can tell.

If it was me, I would get it out, and then replace it with a new one. The snorkel assembly likely would be fine with the body clip on the left, considering that the front engine front cover goes over it. However, if you're like me, you would know that it was jacked up. I just couldn't leave it like that. Screw extractor sets sell for around $10 at a parts store. You just drill into the center of the bolt with a small drill bit, then run the extractor (which has reverse threads) into the hole that you drilled. Once it bottoms out, it begins to turn the bolt counter-clockwise. Then replace with a new bolt. You will sleep better at night knowing you don't have a broken off bolt in your engine compartment.
