Default Is this model good?

Hi, I am about to buy my first Lexus.
I was looking through some of the dealers websites, as well as through online auctions. I want a safe, family car, that is aslo elegant, and stylish. This black Lexus IS 250 (shortened for convenience) really caught my eye, it is truly beautiful, with automatic transmission and 30k mileage. It's price is about 26k $. I wonder if this is fair price for this particular car. Can you point me in the right direction? Maybe you can recommend other dealers that I can call and talk to (Near Inwood)?

Here is the picture of this one:

stick your family in it and go for a test drive. If you have teenagers, they will be fighting with your wife to get the front passenger seat...

Just know what you are getting. It is not a camry that you can load up and go to the cottage with as the only car.

but they are beautiful aren't they?

My advice would be find a near by used dealer that has a wide verity of makes and models go early on a day that you have nothing planned but to drive as many cars as possible that fit your budget and needs then figure what you like. Then before you buy get online and do as much research as possible.

Honestly, I really don't know about a family car. The back seats have almost zero room for me, but when I drive the car is great! I think the new Camry's are stylish and sportish if you get the one with the lip kit and TRD wheels, and that has a lot of room for a family.

just my opinion.

Also, i do not know if 26k is a good deal because the year is not stated even thou I think it looks like an 07.

I second this. I love my IS350, and one of the reasons I chose it was to have 4 doors, but that was only because I rarely drove 4 people - I just wanted to have the option. The backseat is very cramped, and even if your kids are small, you may find you have to move your driver's seat up to accommodate them and find you don't like the driving position.

Take the family to the dealership and dump them all in, then make your verdict. But the ES may be a good step up size-wise.

I would not call this a family car--if this is the car you would take the whole family in on a regular basis--including all luggage for vacation--then you definitely want something bigger.

get one that is CPO'ed. It might cost a little more but it's worth it!

welcome to the IS family !

I agree with everyone else, its a great car in general, but not a great family car. The back seat is definitely cramped.

if you are looking for a family car, i ISx50 is not a good choice. Yes, it rides smooth and is quiet, but its more of a 2 seater than 4... There isnt much leg space in the rear unless the front seats are tilted more forward. I'm also quite sure you will have "fun" putting a baby seat in the back. Well, thats my opinion...

wHeather you have a baby or a teen, the back seat is cramped. Trunk is descent size but nobody could be comfortable on long trips. I think the GS is the ride to have.

My 2006 IS350 has been a great family car for us, with my 10 & 16 yr old boys sitting in the back. Helps that my Wife is about 5', but my oldest & I are 6'. They are kids... if their feet fit, then there's plenty of room!
