???Roof Spoilers???
#422
Wurd! Thanks man. I also decided to skim thru some of these pages again and saw a few replies were other members didn't use the adhesion promoter, I will be skipping this step as well unless someone else confirms it's a must.
So pretty much install appears to be straight forward;
1) Wax the spoiler
2) Stick double sided tape onto spoiler first
2) Wash the window
3) Align spoiler and tape down with blue tape to use as a hinge (as a previous member mentioned a few pages back somewhere)
(3-a) Thinking about adding some rain-x to add an extra layer of cleaning and provide that water repel effect in the future when that area is not so accessible under the spoiler... or should I skip?)
4) Use alcohol pad to clean/sanitize the glass surface
5) Peel off Red backing, drop the spoiler down and add pressure
**missing anything??

Some additional shots... I want to thank everyone for all their insight & advice on purchasing the spoiler and installing it properly. Came out pretty good. Thanks again to Wizard for the heads up on the deal that oemthing had going on.

got my roof spoiler from oem.thing, and a trunk spoiler from emotors200 or something. oem.thing cost me $85(?) and the trunk spoiler $77. both came painted blue onyx pearl (8P8), and both matched perfectly.
for the roof spoiler, i left a gap so water could run. looks perfectly fine, doesn't look out of place. i'll get pics up soon so you guys can see the color match, fitment, and placing

Hi guy,
New to CL, my first post. I recently purchased a roof spoiler for the IS250 from OEM.THING for 89$ shipped. Anyone bought it in the Glacier Frost Mica? Did the paint match your car?
I'll post some pics once I receive it!

I think GFM is probably the hardest color to match lol.

GFM will be a hard color to match, just like Starfire Pearl. But it really depends on how old your car is (older paint fades a bit due to exposure to elements) and the kind of paint/process used to paint the roof spoiler. That being said, these are painted pretty well, but with the complex colors its always a tough match.

Wow, I give props to whoever took your spoiler off. When I first installed mine it didn't look even so I had to take it off and reapply 3M tape. Let me tell ya, it took forever for me to remove it off my windshield. I think 3M is the best thing that you can use...unless you want to super glue it
