Tint on is350
Just got my first tint ticket after 2.5 years driving with 20% all around. The ticket was issued couple of days after putting on my linea corse lc818. So now, I need your opinions! I can leave the rear windows 20% but I have to take off the tints in the driver front and on the passenger side. Would 35% in the front and 20% in the rear look uneven or would it look good? Should I just take off the tint, and retint it 20% or should I not risk it and just install 35% tint? I could also leave the rear window 20% and go 35 for all four windows? What options would you pick?

Yeah, I would just do the legal tint 35% all around. It's not worth removing and re-tinting back to 20%. I drove around with my civic for 4 years with 20% tint all around and never got pulled over. I've had my IS for almost a year now with 20% tint and have never been pulled over. Luck of the draw, I guess...
EDIT: I forgot to ask if it was a fix it ticket? If so, you don't want to get pulled over again and have bigger fines andcourt dates issued because you didn't fix it.

True. But retinting would cost 200 for me and just paying the ticket, I am assuming, iwll cost about 90-130 dollars. However, there is that chance of getting caught again in the future =/.

I did 35% all the way around in mine (although it actually metered at 33% when he checked it after the install). That is right on the legal limit in NC. I have done 20% before, and really prefer it, but my wife drives the car as well, and I really didn't see her being comfortable driving it at night with 20% tint.
As for splitting 35% and 20%, I think it would look okay, but would recommend you do the 20% on the rear window, and 35% on the doors. That way, the doors look the same from the side of the car. You don't want it to look like an SUV or a mini van. Also of note, the 20% on the rear glass would cut out a lot of the light coming in, which would make the 35% on the doors look darker than it is. Check out a car with 35% tint during full daylight, and then look at one at dusk. The tint looks much darker with less light.
Another example would be to look at a 20% tint car with one window down. It would look more like 35%. Using 20% on the rear would give you a darker look, while keeping the appearance of your car uniform from the side.

when i got pulled over a while ago with limo tint, i had an option either take it off and go show them, or just pay the ticket...i wasnt REQUIRED to take it off. they dont really care if i keep it on that way they can pull me over later and ticket me for it again. It may be different now or depending on what state ur in.
