They gave me a loaner when I took my sisters car in for service when I was 22.

when I bought my 2004 IS I made a big deal at the dealership because I was only 19 years old and they gave me the same bs about loaners. I told them that obviously I was old enough for them to take my money to purchase so they need to figure out how to get me a loaner and it worked! now with my 2011 IS and being much older it's not a problem anymore..

I had no problems getting a loaner, 22 here. So i'm guessing 21 is the min. age here too.

If they have an age restriction it should be mentioned upfront tho, at no point in buying my CPO, like you, did i see anything mentioning any minimum age.

Yeah I agree. Even though Rockville's age restriction was 21 and I was 23 when I bought my car there, somewhere in the Lexus CPO paperwork it should make mention that although you're purchasing a CPO car and it comes with loaner service, individual dealer policy on age limits may vary. I do think there should be a little more consistency in policy. I'm glad my dealer made the change quickly though. And if it was truly due to their insurance company's policy, then there's no way they could have just called up the insurance company and said "Hey now we're giving loaners to 21 year olds, tough" or switched insurance companies that fast, so I'm not sure what was truly going on.

wow I thought it was 21 everywhere.. considering your insurance covers you and the loaner, i find that their insurance line is BS.

21 is the minimum age; however, I have gotten loaners when I was 17. The service representive just told me not to mention it to anyone.

Yeah I wasn't able to get a loaner because I was under 21, so someone from the dealer had to take me back to work 15 miles away. Same with getting a rental from Enterprise (etc.). When I got into my first accident my insurance company told me that I could get a rental while my car was getting fixed, however they didn't realize that in order to get a rental you have to be at least 21, so my sister just gave them her info and I drove it the whole time.

I never had an issue with getting a loaner from the dealers here, all the way down to the Toyota dealer when I bought my Supra in '98 when I was 18. Every dealer is different and because they provide the insurance to cover their loaners it's going to depend on how they do it. Definitely annoying - although if you maintain full coverage insurance that should carry over to a loaner car and it wouldn't really matter who they have their insurance with...

I can see why they'd have a policy like this. When I was 24 I was a speed demon with an intense need for speed. You might even say I was a reckless driver at times. But literally as soon as I turned 25 not a second later I started to drive much more carefully, kind of like an old lady I guess. I'm pretty sure this is the case with everyone else as well.

Wow, this is the second time you're paving the road for me, Calvin. I plan on using Lexus of Towson, and I just turned 23. Thanks!

Glad I could be of help! We'll have to keep in touch, sounds like our interests are pretty aligned and we're in the same area. I don't know that many MD Club Lexus members.

Lexus of Seattle has the age of restriction of 21 to get a loaner. I'm still 19 and it sucks because i couldn't drive the nice RX350

Also just saw you have an IS-F. We'll definitely have to keep in touch then, so we can trade cars from time to time
