Default Getting a 2011 IS350... What do I need to know?

My friend has an '06 IS 350 and I've always loved it for the features and value compared to other makes. I'm gonna be getting a 2011 IS 350 for my BDay in 2 months. I've started doing all of my research and have been following the forums for info, but wanted some input from you guys to see what I need to know going in.

Thanks!

OP, if you can just wait for another year. the redesigned IS will be out this time next year according to my sales rep. unless you want to spend 40k plus on an outgoing model.

I've been looking everyday for the next redesign but there are no details. What is generally the release month for the IS?

Also, a lot of sites point to info. saying that Lexus is unlikely to re-design a year after a refresh like the '11.

The consensus is that the earliest you will see 3G is 2013 MY arriving at dealerships in late 2012. Even that is not set in stone, it might be MY 2014.

I would just say decide weather you want F-Sport or not. One big thing F-Sport does not come with is memory seats/mirrors, although I think that only comes on full luxury package not the value lux package. The microfiber seats also do not have cooling, just heated. I love my F-Sport but those are some things to keep in mind.

Thanks for the input. I was all in for getting an F-Sport, but I heard the microfiber seats aren't extremely comfortable and I've always been a fan of having leather seats. I'm a very casual driver so the cupped seating doesn't make me go nuts.

Love the microfiber inserts, wish that came standard and leather was an upgrade. Just like 1st gen.

One more point about the 3IS, if it is that important do a 2-yr lease, or even 3-year, then pick up a 2015, and buy then if you want. You get to enjoy the 2011 for a few years then make your friends/neighbors jealous AGAIN in a few years
