Satellite Radio Song Info flashes rapidly
I recently installed the XM tuner and fit kit in my 2008 IS350. The tuner seems to work fine. The radio plays with no issues other than the track title and artist information. It does not display constantly. Rather it will flash for a split second and then show nothing for a few seconds and then repeat. The really annoying part is when viewing the navigation map, the radio interprets the split second flash of information as an update or something and therefore constantly displays SAT1 at the top of the screen partially covering the map.
Does anybody have any idea what may be causing this? Again, just to reiterate, the signal seems fine because the radio plays fine with no skips or interruptions. I am baffled. Please help.

I have been continuing my research into this issue and just discovered a potential cause. My car has the IPOD hookup in the glove box. Could the IPOD and XM be conflicting and causing my problem? If I remove the IPOD connection, do you think the flickering XM song info will go away?

I have a similar problem, but not the same... my artist/song information doesn't update randomly. Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't work at all until I turn the car off. The "Sr. Tech guy" at the dealership says his ES does the same thing, but they have no idea what causes it. I would *love* to have this really annoying bug fixed.
Note: if I change the XM channel, it displays the current song correctly, but won't update on song change... only on channel change.

I tore into the dash and removed the Ipod connector from the radio. All of my problems went away. The XM radio is working flawlessly now. I hope this information helps somebody else down the road.
