Hi guys,

My first post, however I have been lurking for quite some time and just recently purchased my IS.

I’ve just recently purchased an ’07 IS350 and I’ve noticed that engine makes this loud whining sound. It is louder when the engine is cold but still very noticeable even when the engine is up to operating temps. The sound increases with RPM. I’ve have searched the forums and it looks like others have had this problem as well but none of the posts talk about a fix for it. Things that have been mentioned are timing chain, accessory belt , accessory belt tensioner or other various pulleys.
Has anyone actually had and fixed this issue?

I did recently, on my 07 IS250, turned out to be the waterpump going bad. Also replaced both idler and tensioner bearings (not the pulley's themself) and fixed my whining noise.
