I remember reading something about Lexus changing the exhaust manifold design to help reduce carbon build up yadda yadda. Maybe it changes the sound too.
When I had the chance to meet with the ISx50 Engineer's serveral years ago, I told them how great the engine sounded when it was "opened up". So maybe they actually took my (& others) advice? Doubt it but.......

To me it sounds like my '11 250 is lacking exhaust is lacking. I think it sounds like a four banger. Don't know about comparing to older ones, in just talking in general...maybe mine is just weak

The part numbers are different.
As far as the exhausts go, they are actually not the same for the 250 and 350. They'll fit each other, and the aftermarket (example: F-Sport) is the same, but they have different part numbers between the 250 and 350 from the factory.

Check the part numbers for the exhaust on the 2011... if it different, you can get it and your car will sound as "ballsy" as your loaner!!! (exhausts are the same on a 250 and 350)

Oh and on a side note... anyone who has driven a 350 and then driven the 2011 250 notice how eager the auto tranny is to shift out of 1st gear? I just drove home from my parents house and found it quite annoying. I do not recall the 09 loaner or my mom's 2010 250 being as eager to "skip" 1st. Odd.
