Well, I mean I live in Chicago so there is street lights almost every other block. I probably end up spending 10-15 minutes a day driving to and from school waiting for lights to turn green. Even so, 12 in the city is still kind of low.

Not AWD, as AWD wasn't offered on the IS350 in 2007.

If 12 miles takes you 45 minutes, obviously you're stopped a lot and accelerating/decelerating a lot, so I can definitely believe you'd get gas mileage on the low end of the IS350 range (I also have a 2007 IS350). However, 12 MPG sounds very low, especially if you don't drive it hard and use 93 octane. I couldn't begin to speculate on what might be causing it, but it definitely seems anomalously low.

And slidingIS: If you're considering a 2IS, I wouldn't focus on gas mileage as a major criteria in deciding between the options (250, 350, AWD) because they're all very similar to each other and the factor that influences gas mileage most is personal driving style. I guarantee there are people that get worse gas mileage in their 250's than other people get in their 350's. My commute is 40 miles a day, 80% highway, and I get 26 mpg+, and on pure highway driving I've seen 33 mpg. So in my opinion, if you want a 2IS, determine if you want 300 hp or 200 hp (and if the extra 100 hp is worth a few extra thousand dollars) and whether you want RWD or AWD, then make your choice.

Has a pole been created for this already? If not, might be helpful to see Year | Model | ECT Button set to? | Gas mileage.

I have an 08 250RWD that can push to 350mi per tank.

That's pretty much what I got on my 250 AWD, well close to 360. One time, I almost got 396 on my tank one time. I suspect you could probably push 400 or more on your RWD.

There are SOOOOOO many factors that affect fuel efficiency that the #s get quite skewed after a while. But I personally saw on my first road trip in my '06 IS350 w/ 30k miles that I netted 24.9mpg hwy.

Factors that affect mpgs :

*Engine wear and up-keep
*Tire wear and up-keep
*Right foot
*Top tier fuel or non-E85 content fuel
*Alignment

and so-on...

I get about 18/19 average on my 350 but I do all city driving and I have a heavy foot. However with gas prices the way they are I'm def going to be changing that soon.

I have an '08 IS250 AWD, and on average (just city driving) I get around 17-18 MPG.

Damn i'm really happy i got an IS250

My last road trip i got about 33mpg driving between 65-75mph the whole time, more towards the 75 then the 65 tho.

I use the Road Trip app on my iPhone to keep track of MPG, so far im getting 29.68 MPG average! The lowest i've ever gotten was 25.07mpg on a tank, that was when i got stuck on the freeway due to road closure and was moving so slow the car was pretty much idling for over an hour.
