I'm right there with Nixx. I average 19 to 20 MPG on my IS350 ...and that's all city driving. Once I averaged 25 MPG when I had training for a week in Carlsbad ...and that was mostly highway driving with 20% city driving.

I'm convinced that the more stops (stop signs or traffic lights) you have in your daily route, the lower your average MPG will be. Remember that when you are at a stop, you are reading 0 MPG ...and if you are waiting a few minutes, then that's going to lower your average. And your average gets lower if you also have hills in your route.

Just to add to that, in the L/100 KM reading while stopped, it will read 30L/100 KM at a stop. Since there the read outs basing it on fuel amount, the number from what I noticed, the numbers changes rapidly even thou it updates every 10 seconds - suspect there is more precision accuracy compared to when the readouts where in MPG.

I think so too. When I was in the drive-thru line at McDonald's, I saw my MPG go down 2 points.

I've only filled up my IS350 3 times and so far have gotten 18, 19 and 21. Right now I think I'm at 19-something.

Just finished first tank on my 11 350awd.

23mpg with 70% highway...30 city.

I'm pretty happy with that figure. I just turned my ECT on for this tank so we'll see what effect that has.

Funny thing is my Z06 gets better gas mileage and I beat on that sucker everytime i drive it.

I hope everyone's clear on what's happening here...it's fairly straightforward. When you're stopped and the car is idling, you're still using gas, but you're not moving so your mileage is 0, so your gas mileage drops significantly.

Yeah ...that's the point a few of us trying to make. Which is why the people who drive mostly highways have better MPG average.

But what I'm starting to wonder about ...is how often people fill up their IS250/IS350?

Everybody on here should start stating how often they fill up as well as their average MPG. Here's mine:

Average MPG: 19 - 20 MPG
Average Fill-Up: Every 2 weeks

Actually what happens is your car is no longer measuring miles per gallon the measurement changes to gallons per hour when you are idling. thats why the miles per gallon gauge reads 0

I think reading L / 100 KM is better since the result shows the result in fuel amount based on distance instead of result distance based on fuel (MPG).

When you are not moving, the display reads out as 30L / 100 KM. 30L / 100 KM, one would think wow!!!! Until you start moving, then the numbers gradually start going down.
