2008 IS350 fishtailing bad on corners...
I have a 2008 is350, completely stock other than cosmetic mods, when I turn a corner the car seems to fish tail very easy. Has anyone else had this issue? I had a 2003 350z before this and never had an issue with that car. I'm waiting on rims and new tires to arrive next week, but right now I hate driving the car. I find myself slowing when turning onto the on ramp on the interstate and I used to haul ***

What you're feeling is probably partially the body roll of the 2IS. Upgrade the sway bars and suspension and you'll feel a BIG difference. You won't be able to take turns and curvy on-ramps at the same speeds you were able to in your 350Z, but it will perform better.

check your tires & tire pressures first, then check your alignment front & rear to verify they're within spec. check any applicable bushings/joints when doing the alignment. if all is well, you may want to be more conscious about accelerating and steering smoother out of turns. good luck.

Big difference between body roll and fish tail. Actually if you put in stiffer sway bars then it will fish tail even more as the rolling force would be directed to the wheels rather than being absorbed in the roll..

I think it's just the tires are crap, it's done it a few times since I've had the car. This morning I totally lost the *** end but the car grabbed again so I think the traction controls on. I'll pay more attention to it tomorrow. It's fish tailed once in dry weather too. I'll be curious when I get new tires next week if it still does it, maybe I'm driving it to hard cause I'm used to the 350Z. They balanced and aligned the tires when I 1st got the car in Jan. cause it vibrates in the seat at about 85mph. The guy told me then that the tires aren't bad they're just crap tires. I'm thinking of doing the Nitto Invo tires now.

I had a 350z before my IS as well and I can say that this car definitely has a helluva lot more body roll than a Z(although I was also on coilovers with 275 tires on the back so that car stuck like crazy). I found that lowering it and getting stickier tires helped quite a bit but this car will never handle like a 350z...it's just asking too much of it.
