Default DIY-Cup holder Led

I've been searching around DIY for LED cup holder and I couldn't find any. so I got some time today to do some Cup holder led mod so decided to do a DIY. I am using some Pre wired 5mm white Led from www.c-leds.com that I got a week ago, I got the round top but you can get the flat top LED to make it easier.

1. Take off the center counsel, follow https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...en-moving.html

2. I had to dremel the Round top of my 5mm Led to flat so it will fit inside of the cup holder without sticking out. I then drill out a 5mm hole on the driver side of the cup holder cause the back and passenger has too much going on, lol.

3. used a hot glue gun and put a ring of glue around the hole first. Then stick the led on and put another round of hot glue around the back to secure the led bulb down.

4. now u should be ready to tap the wire, what I did is tapped in to the Led light thats inside the arm rest cup holder.

the 2 wire that's running out of the stock LED light should be Black and white stripe, and a champagne wire. black/white= Neg, Champagne= POS

5. check if the light is working and then out the counsel back, and vola!!

The light looks green in this pic because of the camera, but it's pure white. Enjoy! (this is my first DIY write up so if I am doing something wrong, feel free to correct me.)

That looks great. I am on a work trip in a ford focus rental that has cup holder lights and all I could think well driving last night was "why does this thing have this and my Lexus does not?"
I think I'll do this when I install my SL2Vi

What are you guys doing with the dash lighting? Converting the back lights on the buttons to LED??

Yeah ford has it, I poke my head in my friends mustang and went thru his lights, but it's all Girly lights, they don't have white, only color there I like is blue.

Good job it looks bright. I would have advised you to get the flat LEDs to save some time. I used the same company just the flat ones to do my rear reflectors and door handle LEDs. The flat LEDs look stock. Nice job. I have about 20 LEDs left so this will most likely be my next mod when I get some time.

I was wondering is theres any room do drill the hold on the bottom instead of the the side?

I am not a big dew drinker but my gf is! Tomorrow night I'll take sone dew pics. Yeah it looks bright, I got some flat led and I might put that in, cause these ones are kinda too bright for my taste. There are room for the bottom of the cup holder to drill hole into, but I much rather have it on the back side but there aren't any room. Where I have it right now will probably hit the passengers eyes at night lol.
