That's an excuse for rattling? It's still a $35k+ car and more expensive than at least 90%(?) of cars on the road. I don't buy that as an excuse.

The dealers actually have "noise kits" that they use to quiet rattles.

I had a rattle in my LS 460 dash.

They are hard to locate and pinpoint, but we did.

The dealer replaced the drivers in the front speaker grill and the speaker clips and insulated the defrost duct and center speaker.

The parts were:

55408-50110-C0 PANEL SUB ASSEMBLY, INST
08231-00801 "Noise Kit"

The fact that they have a "noise kit" says something. Stick to it, try to pinpoint the location (have someone else drive and apply pressure to different areas). A plastic-on-plastic rub is truly annoying. You'll find it.

I have had 5 Lexus vehicles since 2000 and still have two. I was t-boned at 70 MPH in my 2007 GS 350 AWD, flipped and slid 60 yards on the roof. My wife, son and I walked away with no injuries. I am a Lexus guy. When compared to my friends Mercedes, Audis and BMWs and the problems they have and the poor dealer service, I'll stick with Lexus.
