Default Am I driving a Chevy/Ford or a Lexus?

Holy moly, it was actually warm out today and apparently the front dashboard rattle isn't all by itself as far as noises go.

The rear window has now developed the same kind of noise, but it's 50 times louder and happens when driving down a COMPLETELY SMOOTH ROAD!!! At least the dashboard noise doesn't happen on newly paved roads.

Man I know it has 60k (And is a 2007) on it, but this is NOT what I was expecting from a lexus.

yes the rear rattle is louder than the dash rattle and here's MY dash rattle

That's the point I'm trying to make to the dealership.

Yes I bought it from someone else, yes it doesn't have a warranty anymore, but man at 60k and 5 years old, my freakin camaro had no incredibly annoying noises like this car does.

When you say rattle, is it that little "click" sound that happens in the dash? I get that once in awhile. Annoying the heck out of me.

That's rather unsual. I wonder if they removed the panels to upgrade speakers etc and when selling it took them off and didn't properly reinstall the panels... you should check that and if possible, replace all the clips, they are cheap.

That's the bad part of buying used. You never know what the previous owner did and many wont tell you.

It's a Lexus, but let's be honest with ourselves, the IS wouldn't be considered the top of the line automobile. It's great, but it's no Maybach.

Even a Chevy does not do that...
I drove a Chevy Beat (Made in India) for over 30 days and I did not experience any rattles or mechanical problems whatsoever.

Lets compare apples to apples... Maybach is in the "elite" class of "exotic luxury"... There are not too many cars that can compete with it. Lexus is nice, but it is in the "luxury" class, and with that being said... I do agree with the OP about the sound. I was expecting more myself as far as the build quality. I have the rattle noise too and about 4-5 other issues that annoy, but I still like my car. I will just have to deal with it, but I am not purchasing anymore Lexus vehicles... unless I get a steal of a deal on an LS lol

Did you not test drive the car before you bought it?
