Default Do I need extended warranty and any of these options?

Hi all,

We just bought a 2008 CPO IS250 from a local dealer. The sales manager has been trying to sell us extended warranty and many options on top of car. We are not sure if those options are actually worth the price, and would like to hear any opinions.

CPO warranty will last for 3 years/100,000milesfrom now,and the sales manager offered another 3 year's warranty fro $2,300, and told us this is really a good deal

Options are:
Simoniz- $699.
The Tire and Wheel Protection- $895
LoJack- $695
Autobahnd -$795

Forget the last four items ..... they are next to worthless and not worth the money. $2,300 for 3 more years doesn't sound like that good of a deal....I got 4 extra years for less money than that. Look on Lexus' site for what he Retail price of the extended warranty is and negotiate off that price.

I forgot the phone number, but there is a dealership you can call and get extended warranty for around $1.6k. A simple search will yield which dealership to call.

Your car is already a CPO. How many miles are on it? If you've got under 50k, i would just leave it alone. The standard 3 yr/100k mils CPO warranty is enough. It's a Toyota, not an old Ford. The transmission and engine are pretty much rock solid. Your better off putting that money into a savings account than spending it on a warranty you'll probably never use for anything more than $500.

Call Toyota of Greenfield, I bought my Lexus extended warranty through them at a significant discount.

thank you all for the replies. The one we bought only got 14,000 miles on it, and it was a
personal lease vehicle. The extended warranty will be the same as CPO (link below)

Currently, you have 3 years/86000 miles of CPO warranty left (6-7 years total). I believe 8 years is the maximum extended warranty Lexus offers so it sounds like he's offering you an aftermarket (10 years total) extended warranty, all of which are scams. The IS250 is one of the most reliable cars in the consumer reports annual survey. Don't get any of this extra stuff.
