i took my car in today for an oil change and the latest recall. they recommended that i get my fuel injector cleaned out for $250 and change my spark plugs for $251. i laughed at the guy on the phone and said im all set. i dont know about the fuel injector price but i always thought spark plugs were cheap. i have an 06 is350 with 75k miles on it do i need to change this stuff now?

Cheap generic copper plugs are cheap. Your car doesn't use those.
You can buy the proper plugs for $13 each from Sewell, so $78 in parts (plus shipping).
To be honest $251 is the cheapest quote I've ever seen for a spark plug change on a 2IS... even if he's not marking up parts he's only hitting you for about 60-90 minutes of labor, which is very very reasonable for the work.
(you're right the injector stuff is a BS service not even mentioned in the manual though)

ditto on the plugs, if it's recommended at 60k then you're due. I really thought these things would have 100k mile plugs like most other modern vehicles.
