Default is these prices correct?

i took my car in today for an oil change and the latest recall. they recommended that i get my fuel injector cleaned out for $250 and change my spark plugs for $251. i laughed at the guy on the phone and said im all set. i dont know about the fuel injector price but i always thought spark plugs were cheap. i have an 06 is350 with 75k miles on it do i need to change this stuff now?

Plugs are called to change at 60k miles, you're well past due.

Cheap generic copper plugs are cheap. Your car doesn't use those.

You can buy the proper plugs for $13 each from Sewell, so $78 in parts (plus shipping).

To be honest $251 is the cheapest quote I've ever seen for a spark plug change on a 2IS... even if he's not marking up parts he's only hitting you for about 60-90 minutes of labor, which is very very reasonable for the work.

(you're right the injector stuff is a BS service not even mentioned in the manual though)

a bottle of fuel treatment in your tank for $250 LOL

ditto on the plugs, if it's recommended at 60k then you're due. I really thought these things would have 100k mile plugs like most other modern vehicles.

The tighter change interval is related to it being a lean-burn direct injection setup.

My buddy with a hemi has to change his every -20- thousand. And has 16 plugs.

The BMW 335i calls for plugs every -45- thousand.

60 is actually pretty good anymore.

If you need an injector cleaned, check out Injector Rehab.
