Default Any Idea to DIY Keys For ISX250???

So, i was thinking to have an extra Key(smart Card) for my IS, however it is quite expensive for me...

therefore, i start to wonder if one can DIY the key by giving up the fob,and the buttons, transfer only the chip(with battery) to another nicer and compact casing may be(i had try, obvisouly, car is working fine with the chip only, the plastic fob is just an protection casing holding 3 bottons)

So, any Idea???i am thinking a USB flash drive case....

I think 1) your pictures make my eyes hurt and 2) not a terrible idea, go with it and let us know how it turns out!

so the current fob is not small enough for you?

And how does this get you another fob if you have to take apart your current one to make this?

Actually you dont need any buttons if you have a good alarm system. I have a Viper 5901 and have never used the Lexus remote since. They should just the chip in the black strip of a credit card lol.

it would be nice if Lexus would have made the security like my big Harley. If I walk away from my bike, the alarm auto arms. When I walk up to it with my key, it disarms.

i had the same idea, but i was trying to make into a charm ish kinda thing so i can wear it with my necklace. I rarely use my key fob since i have a viper alarm, i was trying to frabicate a housing thats smaller and LIGHTER but no luck(to lazy too lol). but yeah i would be interested if you can come up with something.

the best thing i can come up with is buying one of those medical USB drve where you can hang on your neck. it seem to be just big enough to fit the board.

maybe something like this
http://www.amazon.com/MedicTag-Digit...2625061&sr=8-7
you can trim the excess and then maybe wrap it with the CF cloth to make it look not as cheap .

You can go to the Lexus dealership and order a fob/remote that is an option for the ISF bbut works with all Lexus cars and it is the size of a credit card no buttons and goes in your wallet I will get you a part number tomorrow I am a service advisor for Toyota and actually have programed at least 2 or 3

The smart key cards are probably what you'd be looking for. Various Lexus models offer them, I'm considering getting one for my IS.

Yes, I know... I was responding to DonYojan who mentioned the pre-existing card.

Though I'm still unclear how the OPs project gets him an "extra key" as it requires disassembling an existing key.
