Default National back-order couldn't stop me! BFG KDWs inside!

Yes, BFG KDWs are on national back-order from the BFG/Michelin factory here in SC...but that didn't stop me on my search for the tires I wanted for my Lexus. My first and only stop, Discount Tire. After three different employees looking for them in the computers, one guy found the rears I needed in GA! Probably the last two 255/40/18s available throughout the entire tire chain at the moment. They hooked me up right, and at a good price might I add.

Had to wait a week for them all to arrive, but today I finally got them installed. I love the way they look and hook!

Have you ever owed a set? Post your opinions, thoughts, questions, etc.

Thanks for looking!

Well, the previous owner (pretty sure female with a white-haired dog) curbed the heck out of all of the rims...and especially the insides. Well, one of the rears gave me some feedback in the dead pedal and now with the new tires being mounted and balanced properly everything is back to normal.

The ride noise is louder than the OE Dunlops that were on there...but perhaps it is because these BFGs haven't been broken in yet? IDK, but they have grip x2!

Not a big deal to me coming from a '95 Civic as a DD. LOL! If I keep the radio at 15, I'll never heard them really. The traction was more of what I was after anyways.

I've had a brand new set of these on my RWD IS2 for about 2 weeks now... They're not bad but they're noisier than expected and I suspect it'll get worse.

Great tires but they will not last you very long.

I may be mistaken, but those look like uni-directional tires, and the fronts look OK, but the rears appear to be installed on the wrong side - i.e. channeling water to the front of the tire. Anyone else think so?
I use Discount Tire, also, and they have always done a good job for me, but I'd take it back and ask them about that. The tires are probably mounted correctly, but they swapped the two rear wheels when installing.

Yes, definitely uni-directional tires...but they're installed correctly, notice the "Rotation" arrow on one of the pics. But I'll double check once I leave work.

I don't see that rotation arrow, to which you refer, which I presume is on the front left tire, and it is mounted correctly, channeling water to the rear. However, I DO see that the tread pattern on the rear is opposite of the front left, so I think the rear wheels should be swapped...which will help with all that road noise, too, maybe.

MY APOLOGIES!!! I just looked at my car/tires. NOW, I see that the first pic is of the rear tire, not the front left. And, my uni-directional tires also seem to channel water from the middle to the front, just like your pics show. This makes sense, I suppose, since water would basically travel from the center of the tire, toward the outside, as the tire turns, keeping it moving straight towards the outside, while the channel is in contact with pavement.

Note, this is the first time I've ever been mistaken about anything...but it may happen again. ;-)
