sales tax is only paid on a monthly basis, no taxes due at signing. Aquisition fee, tag, title, registration, and possible dealer fee are due at signing.

Sounds like you carry almost $10K of negative equity, in this situation you aren't getting a bad deal but you need to ask yourself a question... Do you think that's the most you can get for your EVO??

If your so much as doubting it, then DONT do it. I sell cars. Try private sale, TRUST ME. We are here to steal your trades (no pun intended) and thats being honest. Carmax should OUTdo their offer easily. Use the $3000 u have to make up for w.e the difference might be.

Example... you owe 36K.... carmax gives you 33K.. put the $3000 and run with it.
I doubt you will get 33 but see what they offer before you pull the trigger on what I honestly think is a STUPID deal. IMHO

The smartest financial move would be to keep the EVO, live with it and just get it paid off. THEN when you can afford to, come back to this deal and lease or buy the IS250. Like everyone has said though, from one impulse buyer to another...get the 350. For the extra coin it'll cost per month...you'll thank us all later.

People have had good luck with CARMAX, but they have low balled me hard on every car I have taken there. I've had to laugh...and I even use to work there years ago. I've even had the salesman be like damn im sorry dude that's nuts. Worth a try though.

Also whats the purchase price here? I think you said 40k somewhere....thats MSRP. = not a good deal

I just came from the dealership and they paid 28k for my evo, my score wasn't 730 as shown on transunion website, when they run it, it was only 687 they still retained the 784/month.

But it's such a huge difference ....... from the Evo to a 250 like others had said maybe price a 350 and get that instead ? If not then in 12 months you'll have buyer's remorse yet again regardless good luck with your choice !!

You'll be happy for sure. I was quite happy with mine. You can't go wrong. Only other option was to do what others have said and get the is350.

If there was an awd is350 when I got my 250 awd. I would have bought that instead.

In your first post you said they were going to give you $26,500 for your evo and the payments would be $746.

But now they gave you $28,000 for your evo and now your paying $784 a month? They gave you $1,500 more for your car and even though your credit was lower you still had to pay almost $40 more a month?

I see it's too late, but I was going to say never buy or lease a car based on money down and monthly payments. Doing it that way, you have no idea how much the dealer is discounting the car. This is how they make mass money off of people. It's bad enough you have a trade in, which is another area they screw around with the numbers. Always work off of invoice, negotiate from that, then add in the trade.
