I know there are a few threads on this topic but they all seem to be from 2006 and i'm hoping more information has come to light. The ASL on my 350 w/ nav doesn't seem to do anything?! Whether I'm on the freeway going 80 or doing 35 on surface streets. I do see the bars going up and down (the highest I've seen is 2 out of the 5) but there is no volume control whatsoever regardless of the number I set the volume to. My 03' gs430 had a way more noticable ASL system so i'm thinking there may be something wrong w/ my IS. Anyone come to any better conclusions about the system besides the fact that "it just sucks"?!

Mine works just fine. The bars go up and the volume does too.
NOTE: If the volume was set at 20 when your stopped and you get on the interstate going 70 and it goes to 3 bars, the volume will still be set at 20 but music will be playing louder.
***But the whole point of the system if for the sound to always sound the same, so it shouldnt be very noticeable.***
The biggest way to see if its working is to get on the interstate going 70 wiht the ASL on, then turn it off, the music will sound quieter since it will be playing at the "stopped" level.
Hope that helps.
