Default Removin front grill..... & leaving it out

Has anyone removed their grill (not the grill surround that is typically chrome on our x50's)?
If so have there been any issues?

I ask cause this weekend I'm removing my grill so I can paint my grill surround black and at the same time I wanted to remove the grill insert that the L rests on.

Lastly, I was going to remove the lower grill that resides in the lower part of the bumper & I have the same questions about it too.

My questions are:
-Do these grills serve a purpose aside from keeping bugs out of the radiator?
-Do they provide structural support of some kind to the bumper/hood?
-Will aerodynamics cause the hood to ripple in the wind/possibly, over time, breaking something?

Thanks in advance for assistance.

The look I'm going for can be seen here

except of course just no grill there.

you could take out your grill but you should replace it with another..even in that picture that car has a mesh type grill.

I would advise strongly against going grill-less. I have the Blitz grill and you can already see right through its mesh (which is an area of the car that was not meant to be seen at all). I have even considered getting a more substantial mesh to replace the one that came with the Blitz.

The only cars I see on the road with no grill look like the owner just doesn't care enough to buy a new one. Looks pretty bad to me.
