How to make IS250 faster:
1. Put car in "D"
2. Drive to Lexus dealership
3. Put car in "P"
4. Trade in Car for IS350/IS-F
5. Put IS350/IS-F in "D"
6. Drive
No seriously though, if your looking for something faster, you bought the wrong car. The ECU is untouchable and bolt ons will only net you small gains.

A base Civic Sedan is still slower than IS250.
From http://www.zeroto60times.com
2009 Honda Civic LX Sedan 0-60 mph 9.7 Quarter Mile 17.4
I admit it's slow, but it's not that slow.

As an owner, I can tell you the IS350 absolutely will spin tires from a standstill, I've done it both on purpose and on accident several times. If you launch it above a certain RPM, I can guarantee you can get wheelspin.

if u wanted speed the 350 is the way to go.... 250 is still nice and its slow but its not THAT slow.... if u bought the is250 to race than u failed hard... if u bought it for looks and the luxury than u did it right.

What does this mean exactly? Almost any car will spin its tires if you launch from a high enough RPM. I'm not sure what you're saying here. I think what you read in another thread (likely written by Kurtz) is that the IS350 is not "traction-limited" only in that it does not have trouble putting its 300 HP down on the ground through the wheels. He means that in the IS350, you can put all 300 HP to the ground fairly easily without spinning the wheels. He was contrasting this to other cars with much more HP, wherein it's almost impossible to gain the full advantage of all the HP in a launch-type setting because you'll inevitably end up spinning your wheels for at least a bit, or you won't put much power down at all in order to prevent wheelspin.

Why so much hate? What's wrong with the OP wanting advice on how best to launch his vehicle? Whether its a minivan or a space shuttle, I thought we all could have had some good collective advice for the guy. Bummer, I thought I left some of this behind on the Honda fourms.

To be honest if you want to mod for performance I wouldn't look at an is250 or 350 there are better choices out there. My 250 is fast enough for me though.... I prefer to say its not fast as opposed to using the world slow.

There's no hate. IS250 is an amazing car inside and out... quick? NO. Will a stock Cobalt SS beat it? ABSOLUTELY.
I bought my IS250 for it's styling, luxury, and all the features it comes with. If you try and race in this car, you definitely failed. No matter how you launch this car, it has no top end power.
