:cry:My car got keyed, what should i do?
went out for lunch today, found out someone just have no life and have nothing eles to do, they keyed my car in the parking lot.............(the whole front passenger door was with deep stretch marks) ╮(╯﹏╰)╭ sad day...
so i called the police right away and get it reported, then i went to dealership to get an estimate, this guy tell me that they need to repaint the front door back door and also the front fender to get the color match, and it cost about $1200..... (but i have no stretch marks on any of the area excpet the front passenger door)..
then i went to another body shop asking to only repaint the front door and they will do it for $250..
what should i do ? should i go to the dealership and repaint the whole side of the car ? or just get the door paint? will the color match ?

believe or not, i got the same ish happened to me and on top of that they me with a cart and booked it (causing more dent and paint damage.) all the repair was done for cheap without having to blend into the rear door or fender, it looks good. i have millenium metallic silver, so its not easy to match up.

Most body shops like to paint the next panel over to match the entire area. Painting the door would be fine but might be slightly off. They'd have the same paint code, but it NEVER comes out exactly the same (fading etc.).
If you just want your door painted, go to the body shop for $250 which I think is WAY too cheap. If you really care for your car to be perfect, call your insurance company and have it done right.
