Default Issue with tire pressure

So today I leave work and get into my car and as soon as I start it i realize that my tire pressure light is on. I get out and visually inspect the tires and they all seem fine. So I drive home without any issues and as soon I park in my garage i check all my tires with a pressure gauge. All were fine except for the rear passenger side tire which had about 22 psi left in it. I hook up my air compressor to see if the tire will take more air. It will take air for about 3 seconds and then i hear a spring loaded click sound that appears to be coming from inside the valve stem and then it won't take anymore air. If i take the compressor hose off and try again it takes air for a few seconds, i hear a click and it stops. It won't go above 22psi but i hear no sound whatsoever of the tire losing air. Even if i hold my tire pressure gauge for a long period of time the pressure is constant and never drops. What could be the issue? I'm think the valvestem may be faulty but i've never experienced a tire that won't take air.

Have the TPMS rebuilt in the valve stem there and see if that helps.
